Age Verification – How it works
Starting 27 May 2026, we are introducing age verification for all orders containing tobacco and nicotine products. This ensures that these products are sold exclusively to adults – quickly, easily and with the highest data protection standards.
Why is this being introduced?
As part of the revised Swiss Tobacco Products Act (TabPA), we are implementing a technical age verification system. This reliably ensures that tobacco and nicotine products are sold only to persons aged 18 and over – an important contribution to youth protection and an expression of our responsibility towards our customers.
What changes for you?
- Existing customers: On your next order containing age-restricted products, you will be asked once to confirm your age. After that, your account is permanently verified.
- New customers: Age verification takes place during registration or the order process.
- Everything else: Browsing, wishlists and all other account functions remain unchanged.
When is age verification required?
Age verification is only required if your cart contains age-restricted products (tobacco and nicotine products such as shisha tobacco, e-liquids or nicotine pouches).
If you order only non-restricted items such as charcoal, shishas, accessories, spare parts or cleaning products, you can order as usual without verification.
As soon as an age-restricted product is in your cart, you will automatically be guided through the verification process.
How does it work?
Our technology partner
We work with PXL Vision AG, a Zurich-based company founded in 2018. Their solution is certified, supports documents from over 165 countries and is fully compliant with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).
Your data is safe
PXL Age only transmits a simple yes/no result. No ID data, photos or personal information is stored or shared with us. Verification data is automatically deleted after processing.
